About
A public record, kept in trust.
The Historical Archive is a digital museum dedicated to preserving the artifacts, documents, photographs, instruments, and voices that record the shape of human experience.
Every exhibit is catalogued by a curator: contextualized within its period, cross-referenced to related holdings, and annotated with a full bibliography. Scans and recordings are high-resolution and freely accessible. Where the physical object exists, its provenance is documented alongside.
The collection is organized in three permanent galleries — Science & Innovation, Manuscripts & Documents, and Everyday Life — with rotating special exhibitions. New acquisitions are announced each week.
This is a working archive. Corrections, contributions, and questions from the public are welcome.
